Led staff of nine, managing all phases of MIS for division level projects and day to day operations. Determined policy,
implementation schedule, budgets and deliverables for the division IS. As direct report of SVP of R&D, responsibilities included the Web group, Desktop Support, Network Operations and special projects. Served as Webmaster, desktop supervisor for 120 employees, senior technical lead and network architect in multitasked roles. Main systems of note: Compaq based NT, Novell, Sun Solaris, SGI and Mac. Created and administered all phases of disaster prevention/recovery for division.

Accomplishments included delivery of eighteen entertainment titles on time during tenure with minimal project timeline slip or project overage. Handled planning and implementation of migration of company move to new offices twice. Served as point man for special projects including migration of several purchased companies into company infrastructure, closing office space, decommissioning servers and developmental systems. Also responsible for trade show architecture and implementation at E3, Comdex, and the like. Created developmental platforms for PC/Mac game systems using MS Visual Studio and managed console developmental acquisition and allocation for Playstation, Gameboy, Dreamcast, PS/2 and Xbox. Designed and implemented strategic VPN/Sourcesafe solutions for distributed game development. Designed, implemented and maintained offsite web co-location systems for web services, secure and public FTP and bug base operations.

Contract for primary network field engineer for Just Results client base. Industry specific experience with law firms and legal integration platforms. Designed, installed, configured and maintained complete solutions for several new clients with networks ranging from Microsoft BackOffice products, Small Business Server, NT4.0 and existing Novell networks. Specified, upgraded and integrated Internet solutions for both new and existing clients mostly consisting of ISP integration, Cisco ISDN routers and MS Proxy Server. Provided second level support for Just Results staff and consultants as well as client needs. Revised baseline Just Results product recommendations in all platforms and services. Dealt with clients in all phases of client services. Provided desktop and remote user support for Win95 and PCAnywhere32 solutions. Performed debug of several network OS level bugs onsite and registered them with Microsoft.

Senior Network Specialist/ Network Designer – Nims and Associates, San Rafael.............................................Mar. 97 – Nov. 97
Employment as primary network designer of network specifications for bid. Created complete specifications ranging from Microsoft NT and Novell network solutions to fairly complex platform integrations with Citrix Winframe and Universal Inbox under both NT and Novell. Provided second and third level support for Nims staff and consultants as well as client needs. Defined baseline Nims product recommendations in all platforms and services. Dealt with clients in all phases of client services.

Constructed over three hundred specifications for client solutions, many complete rebuilds of entire client infrastructure. Specifications encompassed taking client meeting directives, existing systems and stated budget and deriving a hardware, software, time required, training and wiring solution built into a presentation level packet for client review. Generated significant new business and increased turnaround of specification process from three weeks to three days.

Employment accomplishments included several successful mission critical implementations of client projects including Envirotest Inc. primary implementation of Citrix Winframe servers running Solomon4 and MS Office suite in the thin client environment. Primary support for Gordon Biersh brewery and restaurants accounting and operations infrastructure. Implementation of several WAN projects and client upgrades.

Contract encompassed primary design, maintenance and 24x7 support of Landmark’s multiple client sites and companies including Seguin Moreau Cooperage of Napa, Far Niente Winery of Oakville, Northern Paper Stock of San Rafael, and NVEDC of Napa among many others.

Contract accomplishments included management of company relocation and new site preparation for Seguin Moreau, migration of Far Niente from Novell to Microsoft NT environments, and creation/management of the corporate technical support desk for the California Chamber of Commerce in support of their multiple corporate management products.

Contract also encompassed several high profile projects for Landmark including site prep for Landmark’s primary corporate site, creation of electronic content for the California Chamber of Commerce software products, service modifications for the Napa Internet service provider Napanet, and many others.

Contract comprised design; implementation and training for migration of Levi financial systems group to a custom Windows 3.1 network environment from the existing DOS based OS, documentation of all facets of product and training of the 350 staff members.

Contract accomplishments included integration of company wide platforms into a cohesive interface, creation of an operations manual and a user manual for Levi staff use, and a three hour orientation and Windows 3.1 course which was designed and taught for all 350 staff members.

Multiple contracts encompassing long-term network support for 650 users, short-term network support for 350 users and enterprise wide network design projects and migrations.

Contract accomplishments included migration and integration of entire PacTel user community twice, first to a second SF site and then to the new Walnut Creek sites, enterprisewide restructuring/standardization of PacTel’s corporate facilities, training of network CNE staff, and primary implementation of new software and technologies.
